Nana Just Can't Wait!!

Nana is one of those people who can't stand to wait for Thanksgiving to come and go before she has to have her tree up! She bugged me for a week and a half before I finally pulled it out of the basement and put it up for her! That was a week and a half ago!! :)

Yesterday I went shopping and I couldn't resist bringing her home one of these poinsettia plants. I knew she would love it. She said don't forget to take a picture! So here it is...

It is huge!! And she loves it, of course! So it's beginning to look a little like Christmas! At least in Nana's room!!

Nana, "Yum!"

Bethanie sure loves to take pictures...

We were having a birthday party for Tiffany last night and I gave Nana a taste of the pumkin spice cake with pumpkin cream cheese frosting, YUM!
Beth caught her reaction on the camera...

She took this one of herself and Nana, I had to post it!

Sacrament Meeting!

I really wish I would have taken some pictures, but I guess I had too much going on to think about it at the time.

Anyway, Nana actually made it to Sacrament Meeting on Sunday!! She heard that the Primary was doing their Sacrament Meeting Program and she wanted to go. She's been talking about trying for several weeks, but every Sunday morning she would decide not this week. When she heard the Primary was doing their program a couple of weeks ago, she decided that would be the week. It took her two weeks to gear up!! Then during the week, she started to get a cold, stuffy nose, sore throat. I thought for sure she wouldn't make it. (Believe it or not, Nana has a little bit fo a stubborn streak.) She made up her mind she was going, and nothing was going to stop her!!!

I laid out her stuff before I left for Relief Society and told her to be ready when I came back for her. She was ready and we walked out to the car. We got a spot right in front of the doors and she walked in very slowly. She had several people very surprised and very pleased to see her. She enjoyed the program and then came home. It took a lot out of her, who would have thought just walking in and sitting for an hour and a half, then walking back to the car would wear someone out, but it did! She walked in the door and immediately put her jammies back on and climbed right back into bed!!

What a day!!

If things keep going the way they are, she just might make it once a month, maybe? It could happen!!

Feeling Pretty Good!!

Just an update to let you know that things have really improved since those teeth came out!!

It has truly been amazing to realize how much trouble a couple of teeth can cause. From the first day they came out, things started getting better. It only took a couple of days for her to feel like trying to eat. It's taking a little getting used to, with only two bicuspids on the bottom jaw, but as usual, she is making out pretty good.

She is still sleeping quite a bit, but when she's awake she's doing and feeling pretty good!! Except for the cold. With the turn in the weather, we've had to turn on the heater and break out some more blankets!!

Dentist Update...Part 2

The rest of her week seemed to go pretty good. The Amoxicillin was doing it's job and controlling the infection. She was fairly comfortable, for the most part, as long as she didn't try to eat on that one side. This morning we went back to see which teeth were giving her trouble. And wouldn't you know it...It was both of them.

So out they came. She sure was a trooper!! She was so nervous, but knew there was no way around it, and the only way to get all the way better was to get rid of the troubled teeth. Dr. Menlove did a great job and was kind and gentle. After they were out, he had to scrape out more of the infection. He said there was still a lot of infection in there. He got out what he could, and the rest would be up to her body to take care of. Since her kidneys weren't working all that well it could take some time. I have to flush the holes for at least a good two weeks to keep the infection from flaring up again.

She is resting now, back on the big pain killers, but that's to be expected with two teeth extractions.
